Pan Dumplings

I needed to start off my first day of retirement with a new recipe and this one was a big success.  You may have seen these on social media as the viral pan dumplings.  This is very easy to make and comes together quickly.  Pair this with some rice and a salad for a great meal.

The dumplings have some great flavor with garlic and grated fresh ginger.  Make sure you use ground pork and not any Italian sausage so that you don't hide the flavors.

2 tbsp neutral oil or avocado oil
1 lb ground pork
1/3 cup green onion, chopped
2 tbsp soy sauce
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tbsp Ginger, grated
1/2 tsp chili flakes
Wonton or dumpling wrappers
Sesame Seeds for garnish
1/3 cup chicken broth

Sauce

2 tbsp mayo

2 tbsp chili crisp

3 tsp soy sauce

In a bowl combine ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and chili flakes.  Mix until combined.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Roll pork mixture into small meatballs and place in pan.

Lay dumpling/wonton wrappers right on top of each meatball and lightly press down/cup the meatball.

Cook for 3 minutes to brown the bottom of meatballs. Add chicken broth and place lid over pan and let them steam for around 7 minutes or until pork is cooked through.  Remove lid and cook off excess moisture.

Top with sauce, garnish with a dash of sesame seeds and green onions.
